Wake Up Green

And now for a nutritional break…

Oh for the love of oxygen! Dark leafy green plants contain chlorophyll, which cleanses, builds and alkalizes your blood and acts like an energy transfusion, increasing oxygen. Bacteria can’t thrive in an oxygen rich environment and disease can’t thrive in an alkaline rich environment so increase your chlorophyll and enjoy a healthy dose of wellness.

We’ve recently started our mornings with this juiced green drink crafted by Kris Carr. Mild and refreshing, you’ll feel a surge of clean energy.

Morning Glorious

Use as many organic ingredients as possible and wash well.

Morning Glorious, Serves 2

  • 1 large cucumber (peeled if you wish; quartered)
  • 1 fistful of kale
  • 1 fistful of romaine
  • 2-3 celery stalks
  • 1 big broccoli stem
  • 1 green apple, quartered
  • ½ peeled lemon, quartered

Optional: Add pea sprouts, dandelion, spinach, parsley and ginger root or substitute the apple with a pear.

1. Wash and prep all ingredients.

2. Juice, serve and take flight!

Hot Tips: For best results, insert leafy greens, herbs and other smaller leaves into your juicer with a more hearty vegetable or fruit; or wrap herbs and smaller leaves in bigger ones. If you are juicing for one, store the other portion in a glass jar with a lid and drink as a snack later that day (best to drink within one day). And finally, keep your sugars down by crafting your juices or smoothies with a 3:1 ratio of vegetables to fruit.
